hmmm....
After driving from Alabama to Kansas in 2 days with Garret in a 26 ft diesel truck (Sadie riding shotgun of course) and I with expired Hawaii tags, Jesse, and Diva, we made it in one piece to our new home town! We drove to Clarksville, TN on the first day and stayed with our good friends the Clapp's (thanks Erin!). We made it all the way to Kansas City on the second day, and it was only a 2 hour drive in the morning from there to Manhattan. Jesse was GREAT on the road, he cried a total of 1 hour maybe during the total 16 hour drive. The dogs were stressing though...I think they're finally glad to be in one place for now.
We won't close on our home until mid-July so we are staying in temporary Army lodging. It's roomier than I thought it'd be, but not what I would call cozy...it'll do for now.
Here's a few things I've learned in my 2 days here to far: 1. Living in a college town could be way fun, but makes me feel old at the same time 2. It is, in fact, very humid here--darn it! 3. It's not as fun to drive 70 miles an hour when it's actually the speed limit in the middle of no where 4. The thunderstorms are no joke here...scary!
Come back!!!!
ReplyDeleteYay. Glad yall made it safe and sound. That Penske is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThe Fett's are Awesome...Bring it on...there's nothing the Fett's can't conquer!! Oh the joys are military moving!!
ReplyDeleteG looks very tiny and puzzled by his Penske situation. LOL. Seriously disappointed regarding the humidity up there... I'm bringing my crank radio so we can hide from storms together! (Jesse, don't do any growing until I get there.)
ReplyDeleteOh the joys of moving! Glad you made safe and sound!

So glad you all had a good trip to Kansas! Better keep those Ruby slippers handy in case those storms get too rough! Love, Mama Scott
